DEATH VALLEY SCOTTY NIPPED BY RATTLESNAKE
JULY 27,1948
Death Valley Scotty, fabulous desert character, took it easy yesterday in his Spanish-Moorish castle, recovering from a rattlesnake bite.

The 72-year old prospector was bitten yesterday near a cabin where heh spends much of his time. A snake bite is old stuff to Scotty, however and he quickly sliced his thumb where the snake's fangs entered and used the first aid kit he always carries.
