Never fully regaining consciousness after an automobile accident near Yermo last Tuesday, Mrs. Marie Seaton, 38 years old of San Bernardino died at the county hospital early yesterday.
Mrs. Seaton was injured when the car she was driving left the highway and overturned. Her husband Byron Seaton, 1150 Mt. Vernon Avenue was slightly hurt.
The couple were returning from Las Vegas. Seaton told Coroner R. E. Williams that Mrs. Seaton took the driver's wheel at Baker and he fell asleep. He said he woke just as the car lurched from the highway and overturned. Mrs. Seaton was thrown from the car and he was pinned in the wreckage.
Seaton said he could give no cause for the accident except that Mrs. Seaton may have fallen asleep or lost control of the car in passing another car. She had been traveling 60 miles an hour after they left Baker, Seaton told Coroner Williams.
Mrs. Seaton was a native of Blackhawk, Colo., and had been a resident of San Bernardino for 15 years. Both she and her husband were employed at the Mission Auto Court.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ellis Arkland, of Ontario and one son Stanley W. Witte of Seaside, Ore. The body is at the J. W. Woodhouse and Co. mortuary where funeral arrangements are pending.
