She was born July 3,1924, in Leechburg,PA, to Charles and Lena Pochiber. Sheh grew up in Leechburg and married James Chikar on August 26,1943. She worked for Delta Airlines during World War II; planned Parenthood in Pittsburg,PA; Patton state Hospital in San Bernardino,CA; California State University, San Bernardino,CA and the China Lake Naval Weapons Center.
She was active in the officers Wives Clubs,Volunteered as a Grey Lady,was a Girl Scout Leader and was active in the local chapter of Friends in Deed.She enjoyed world travel,bowling,bridge,canasta,crocheting and entertaining her friends.
She is survived by her daughter,Louisa Karen Olson,wife of Kenneth of Bemidji,MN; grand daughter, Tricia Olson of Eagan ,MN; grandson Timothy and wife, Jodie; two great grandchildren,Ashley and Courtney of Grand Forkds,N.D.She was preded in death by her husband Lt.Col. James E. Chikar (retired) and her parents, Charles and Lena Pochiber. At her request,no memorial service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley,1510 E.
